Dr. Stanley is presently a practicing Emergency Physician and has in excess of 20 years experience in Emergency Medicine at one of the busiest cardiac centers in the country. This online course represents a refinement of his lecture notes in teaching 12-Lead ECG and Rhythms to Physicians, medical students, Nurses, Paramedics, PA's and NP's.
He holds the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Missouri-Rolla and the M.D. degree from the University of Virginia,Charlottesville. |

![]() Vernon R. Stanley M.D., PH.D. Vernon R. Stanley, MD, PhD is presently a practicing Emergency Physician and Regional Medical Director for a physician management group. His past 30 years of emergency medicine experience includes in excess of 20 years of emergency medicine at the Charleston Area Medical Center, Charleston, WV. This is one of the largest cardiac centers in the country and a Level I Trauma Center.
His teaching experience includes the following: Present Academic Positions : Teaching Electrocardiography Ten years Adjunct Professor at Philadelphia University, Physician Assistant Program. Five years Adjunct Professor at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. Past Academic Positions / Teaching Experience He has lectured electrocardiography widely to paramedics, physicians, nursing staffs, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and medical students. Two years Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering at the Virginia Military Institute. Seven years Adjunct Professor of Electrical Engineering at West Virginia University Institute of Technology. Eight years Adjunct Professor at Mountain State University, Physician Assistant Program . Publications and Pioneering Author of 12-Lead ECG Interpretation for Emergency Personnel - 1995 12-Lead Workbook for the Medical Practitioner - 1996 Adjunct writer, cardiology section, 1998 Paramedic National Standard Curricula Project.
